Which Outlander recording should you buy?
Two complete readings of the first book by two different narrators, both sold by the same publisher with "International Edition" somewhere in the listing — and a search for the title also returns a different novel called The Outlander.

Short answer
Davina Porter if you intend to go on: she is the long-standing voice of the series and her readings of the later books are all on Audible UK, so the whole saga stays with one narrator. Kristin Atherton's reading is newer and complete, and Recorded Books has been releasing her editions of the later books one by one through 2025 and 2026 — check the series page for how far her run has got before committing to it. Either way, do not confuse this with The Outlander: Gil Adamson's novel about a young widow fleeing across Canada in 1903, which sits in the same search results.
The recordings, compared
| Narrator | Length | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Davina Porter Our pick | 32 hrs 37 mins | Unabridged | Complete and solo. The long-standing reading, and Porter continues through the rest of the series. |
| Kristin Atherton | 29 hrs 57 mins | Unabridged | Complete and solo. The newer reading; Atherton's editions of the later books have been appearing in order since 2025. |
| Charlotte Strevens | 12 hrs 23 mins | Different book, same title | NOT Gabaldon. Gil Adamson's The Outlander, a different novel with a definite article, in the same search results. |
