Which Red Rising recording should you buy?
Tim Gerard Reynolds reads the novel in full. Beside it is a full-cast "Dramatized Adaptation" sold in parts, each part a separate purchase and each marked unabridged in Audible's listing data.

Short answer
Tim Gerard Reynolds: the complete novel in one listing, solo, and he reads the rest of the series, so this is the voice you will be staying with. The Graphic Audio edition is an adaptation — its description says it is "adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music" — and it is split into "Part 1 of 2" and "Part 2 of 2", which are separate listings and separate purchases. Audible's listing data marks each part unabridged, which is not the same as being the book: it is a script performed by a cast. If you want it, buy it knowing you need every part; if you want the novel, it is Reynolds.
The recordings, compared
| Narrator | Length | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tim Gerard Reynolds Our pick | 16 hrs 12 mins | Unabridged | Complete and solo, in one listing. Reynolds reads the whole series. |
| Full cast — Stewart Crank, John Kielty, Richard Rohan and others | 7 hrs 31 mins | Full-cast dramatisation | "Part 1 of 2" of Graphic Audio's Dramatized Adaptation: a script with a cast, sound effects and music, not the text read aloud. A separate purchase from Part 2, and marked unabridged in Audible's listing data. |
| Full cast — Alejandro Ruiz, Richard Rohan, John Kielty and others | 8 hrs 19 mins | Full-cast dramatisation | "Part 2 of 2" of the same adaptation, and no use without Part 1. The running time is this part alone. |
