Which Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy recording should you buy?
Only three listings, and one of them is the most quietly misleading thing we have found on Audible UK -- not because it hides anything, but because the number that looks reassuring is the one that should worry you.

The listing called "John le Carre reads George Smiley" runs 15 hours 40 -- longer than the unabridged reading, read by the author himself, and it contains Tinker Tailor. Everything about that says premium edition. It is an ABRIDGED collection of SIX novels. Fifteen hours across six books is about two and a half hours each, against twelve for this one book alone: you are getting roughly a fifth of Tinker Tailor. It is a lovely thing to own and le Carre reading his own work is a genuine pleasure, but it is not a way to read these novels for the first time. This is the clearest case on the site of a longer runtime meaning less book.
