Hawthorne audiobooks in order
Horowitz writes himself in as the narrator and sidekick to a detective he openly dislikes — so Rory Kinnear is playing the author. An unusual trick, and it is why these work far better in audio than on the page.

Which order should you listen in?
Publication order, and it matters more than in most crime series: the running joke is Horowitz slowly working out who Hawthorne actually is, and that is doled out a book at a time.
