Which order should you listen in?

The textbook case where publication order is the wrong answer. Cornwell began at the Peninsular War in 1981 and only wrote the India books in the late 1990s, so the list below is CHRONOLOGICAL — the order the story happens in, and what nearly everyone recommends. Skirmish, Christmas and Ransom are short stories rather than novels, and none of the three is sold as an English audiobook on Audible UK, so a listener skips them without losing the thread. Sharpe's Storm, the newest, is a full-length novel set in France in the winter of 1813, which puts it after Sharpe's Regiment and before Sharpe's Siege.
